Terms of Service

Plain-English ground rules for using PluQuiz AI. These terms are a legally binding contract — we've worked to keep them short, fair, and readable.

Inputs stay yours. We assign you all our rights in outputs. Always verify important information.

14-day EU withdrawal

Consumers get 14 days to withdraw — unless you tick the digital-content waiver and start using credits.

Romanian law governs

Mandatory consumer protections of your home country still apply (Rome I, Art. 6).

Section 01

Who we are

PluQuiz AI is an AI-powered learning platform that generates practice quizzes, study guides, flashcards, courses, and audio content. Throughout these Terms, "PluQuiz," "we," "us," and "our" mean the company above. "You" means the person or legal entity using the service.

Section 02

Accepting these terms

By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise using PluQuiz AI, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Refund Policy, which are incorporated by reference.

If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation — in that case "you" means both you and the organisation.

Section 03

The service

PluQuiz AI provides tools to create, consume, and share learning content, including AI-generated practice quizzes, study guides, flashcards, courses, explanations, audio lessons, and images. The service is supplied as a continuously-updated digital service, not as a one-off product.

We may introduce, modify, or retire features. Where a change has a material adverse impact on you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and offer you the right to terminate your contract free of charge (as required by Directive (EU) 2019/770 Art. 19).

Section 04

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use PluQuiz AI. This reflects the Romanian age of digital consent under Law 190/2018, which does not derogate from the GDPR Article 8 default. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children under 16.

You're responsible for:

  • Keeping your credentials confidential and enabling multi-factor authentication where available.
  • All activity that happens under your account, including any authorised users you invite.
  • Providing accurate registration and billing information.
  • Notifying us promptly at support@pluquiz.ai if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may add authenticator-app multi-factor authentication in your account settings.

Section 05

Your content

You own what you create. Quizzes, courses, study guides, flashcards, notes, uploads, profile information, and anything else you submit ("Your Content") remain yours.

You grant PluQuiz AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the service — for example to show your quizzes to you across devices, share them with people you've chosen, or run AI generation tasks you request. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to reasonable technical retention periods for backups and fraud/abuse investigation.

You warrant that Your Content:

  • Does not infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Does not contain personal data of others that you do not have a lawful basis to process.
  • Complies with our Acceptable Use rules and applicable law.

If you choose to make content public (for example by publishing a quiz), you grant additional permissions to other users only to the extent necessary for them to view and interact with it.

Section 06

AI: inputs & outputs

PluQuiz AI uses third-party AI service providers to generate quizzes, explanations, flashcards, study guides, courses, audio, and images. See our Privacy Policy for the categories of sub-processors.

Inputs you submit

You retain all rights in text, documents, URLs, and other material you submit for AI processing. We do not claim ownership of your inputs.

Outputs generated for you

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we assign to you all our right, title, and interest (if any) in AI-generated outputs produced for you. Because AI systems can produce similar results for similar prompts, your outputs may not be unique. You are responsible for confirming that using them does not infringe any third-party rights.

We do not train on your content

PluQuiz AI does not train machine-learning models on your inputs, outputs, quizzes, or personal content. Our AI providers process your data under their API terms, which by default do not train their models on customer API traffic.

Always check information before using AI outputs. Generated content may be incomplete, out-of-date, or incorrect. PluQuiz AI is a study aid, not professional advice.

Transparency & labelling

Under the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), we mark AI-generated content as machine-generated where required and will roll out additional labelling and machine-readable markers as the Art. 50 transparency obligations come into application on 2 August 2026.

No human impersonation

You must not present AI-generated outputs as if they were created by a human when doing so could mislead others — for example in academic submissions, journalism, or regulated advice contexts.

Section 07

Acceptable use

These rules protect learners, creators, our AI providers, and us. Break them and we may suspend or terminate your account.

Don't harm people

  • No harassment, hate speech, doxxing, or threats
  • No CSAM or content sexualising minors
  • No content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders

Don't break the law

  • No illegal content, goods, or services
  • No fraud, phishing, or scams
  • No intellectual property or privacy violations
  • No export-controlled or sanctioned-destination use

Don't abuse the AI

  • No weapons, bioweapon, or chemical-weapon guidance
  • No generating malware, exploits, or attack tooling
  • No political manipulation, disinformation, or election interference
  • No emotion-recognition profiling in educational contexts (prohibited under AI Act Art. 5)

Don't break the platform

  • No reverse engineering, scraping at scale, or rate-limit circumvention
  • No automated account creation or credential-stuffing
  • No reselling credits or sharing accounts commercially
  • No competing use — we don't permit training rival AI models using our outputs

If your use of the service is restricted by a third-party AI provider's acceptable-use policy, those restrictions flow through to you.

Section 08

Credits, subscriptions, payments

Credits

AI-powered features (generation, explanations, tutor, podcasts, image generation, narration) consume credits. Prices, volumes, and the per-feature credit cost are shown in-app before you purchase. Purchased credits expire three months after purchase unless otherwise stated. Subscription credits refresh each billing period and do not roll over.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel. We will email you a reminder before renewal. You can cancel at any time from your billing portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and you keep access until then.

Pricing & VAT

Prices are shown in EUR. VAT is added where applicable at checkout based on your country and, for B2B customers, your valid VAT ID. Invoices are issued in accordance with the Romanian Fiscal Code (Law 227/2015) and, where required, transmitted via the RO e-Factura platform.

Payment processor

Payments are processed by a third-party PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. Card numbers are transmitted directly to the processor and never stored by PluQuiz. For unauthorised transactions, contact your card issuer promptly — your statutory rights under PSD2 / Romanian Law 209/2019 are unaffected.

Price changes

We may change prices. For recurring subscriptions, any price change takes effect no earlier than 30 days after notice and only for subsequent billing periods. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

Section 09

EU 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are an EU consumer, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU and Romanian Law 449/2003 / OUG 141/2021. You may withdraw from a contract within 14 days of its conclusion without giving any reason.

Digital content waiver (Art. 16(m))

AI credits are delivered immediately. If, at checkout, you ticked the digital-content waiver box and acknowledged that you lose the 14-day right, the right of withdrawal is waived for those credits.

Ongoing digital services (Art. 16(a))

For subscriptions, if you asked us to start performance during the 14-day window and acknowledged that you would lose the withdrawal right on full performance, you waive the right once the service is fully performed. If you withdraw during the period and had used part of the service, we may retain an amount proportionate to what was provided and refund the rest.

How to exercise your right

Email billing@pluquiz.ai with a clear statement of your withdrawal, your order number, and your account email. You may use the form below. We will acknowledge receipt within 1 business day.

Section 10

Suspension & termination

You can leave anytime

You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent after a 30-day grace period; during that window you can recover your account by signing in.

We may suspend or terminate

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use rules in a serious or repeated way.
  • We're required to by law, regulation, or a competent authority.
  • There's a credible threat to the safety or security of the service or other users.
  • A payment fails and remains unpaid after a reminder.

For serious and repeated breaches, we may terminate without prior notice. Otherwise, we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to cure where reasonable.

Effects of termination

On termination your licence to use the service ends. You can request an export of your content before deletion (see Privacy Policy → your rights). Unused credits are non-refundable on user-initiated cancellation (subject to the Refund Policy); if we terminate without cause, we refund the unused pro-rata portion.

Section 11

Disclaimers & liability

Service provided "as is"

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We don't warrant that AI outputs are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular use, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any content is error-free.

Conformity remedies for EU consumers

If you are an EU consumer, your statutory rights under Directive (EU) 2019/770 and OUG 141/2021 apply: if the digital service does not conform, you can require us to bring it into conformity; if we cannot or fail to do so within a reasonable time, you're entitled to a price reduction or to terminate the contract and get a refund for unused portions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PluQuiz's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) EUR 100.

We exclude liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages; for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill; and for damages arising from third-party content or services.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or wilful misconduct, for breach of mandatory consumer protection rights, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

Section 12

Governing law & disputes

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you continue to enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence (Rome I Regulation (EC) 593/2008, Art. 6).

Jurisdiction

Disputes will be heard by the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania. If you are an EU consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and we can only sue you in the courts of your country (Brussels I bis Regulation 1215/2012, Arts. 17–19).

Complaints & ADR

We'd rather fix things than go to court. Email legal@pluquiz.ai with details — we aim to respond within 14 days.

Romanian consumers may also contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) for alternative dispute resolution. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228); a replacement tool is under preparation at EU level.

Section 13

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service, law, or our business. If a change has a material adverse impact on you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and in-app. Your continued use of the service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you don't, you can cancel and we'll refund any unused paid portion under the Refund Policy.

These Terms, together with the documents they incorporate by reference, are the entire agreement between you and PluQuiz AI on this subject. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor as part of a merger, reorganisation, or sale.
